Fall is on its way, and with the new season comes some restaurant openings (and closings), new locations for your favorite bars, and plenty of Strip District restaurants coming to the Terminal soon. There are also many expansions underway for the Pittsburgh breweries – take a look Pittsburgh Magazine‘s list of the 20 breweries growing or adding locations for all things beer.

🍽 Blue Sky Kitchen is now open. The restaurant has a full scratch menu that includes items like chicken and waffles and tuna steak along with a custom cocktail menu. (freedom of the east)
🍸 The Government Center added a bar. The ever-growing North Side record store and venue first added a coffee shop to its sprawling East Avenue location. Now, they will be serving alcoholic beverages; in a Pittsburgh rarity, they’ll even serve them until 2 am every day. (deutschtown)
🍔 Moonlight Burgers is serving hamburgers on the Duquesne campus. The burger joint has been a hit in Dormont, and its full menu is now offered right across from the Duquesne University parking lot in the old Red Circle space. (Residential area)
🥟 The Dim Sum Lounge is fully open at the old Ki Ramen location. After hosting private events and a limited number of takeout-only pop-ups, Chef Roger Li’s new concept serves Cantonese cuisine to the public including steamed noodles and smoked duck. (Lawrenceville)
🇮🇹 San Ravioli is bringing some italian flavor back to Little Italy. The one-man operation started online and now occupies the former Claussen Bakery on Liberty Avenue. The owner of it donates part of the profits to charitable causes, calling it “altruistic ravioli”, and plans to make other stuffed pastas soon. (bloomfield)

🍺 Aslin Beer Co., based in Virginia. has set mid-October like the release date for its location in the renovated Terminal. The brewery will also feature Troy Hill’s scratch and company like “wingman” to develop your food menu. (fringe district)
🌯 Chipotle is also comes to Terminal. An opening date for the burrito franchise has not yet been announced. Pittsburgh Magazine has more about all the other comings and goings in development, including news about Posman Books and a new miniature golf destination. (fringe district)

😲 Ch-ch-changes
🍔 Mindful Brewing has changed things at Carnegie. Its former Asadero by Mindful Brewing concept is giving way to Mindful Carnegie, where the brewery will offer a full line of beers to go with burgers, salads and fries. (Carnegie)
🍷 Nine o’clock wines headed to butler street. The women-owned natural wine club is moving from Bar Marco to the Market House at Butler and Main. As they prepare to expand, they will continue to fulfill orders, albeit on a more limited basis. (Lawrenceville)
😭 Goodbye (for now)
🇯🇲 2 sisters 2 sons is closing its Sharpsburg location. Yesterday was his last day operating from the Main Street store. The Caribbean venue is on the hunt for new digs, and as they search they will continue to host pop-ups and take catering orders. (Sharpsburg)
🇮🇹 Beautiful Orchard is closing his shop to focus on takeaway and catering. The North Hills Italian spot near Soergel’s Orchard has been a popular date night spot for the past 15 years. The restaurant will continue to operate until mid-October before being replaced by Dee Jay’s BBQ. (Wexford)
🎂 Due to staffing issues, Prantl’s is closing its North Huntington and Squirrel Hill bakeries. Its other locations in Deutschtown, Greensburg and Shadyside will remain open with slightly longer hours to compensate for the closures, which the bakery stresses are temporary. (Several)
