FISHING/SHRIMP

CLOSING SEASON: Yellowtail, Gray Triggerfish, and Red Grouper in state/federal waters. The commercial/recreational flounder season will close on October 15.

OPEN RECREATIONAL SEASONS: Recreational Red Snapper (Open through Oct. 14), Rail Snapper, Blackfin, Queen, Silk, and Wench Snappers among other snapper species and all groupers, except closed for Goliath and Nassau groupers in state/federal waters.

SHRIMP: Open fall inshore season.

-Closed: Pearl River WMA (St. Tammany Parish) closed (flooding); Wax Lake Outlet Campground (Atchafalaya Delta WMA) through Oct. 31; Lake Concord public boat (repairs); Pointe-aux-Chenes WMA fishing piers and pier adjacent to the Island Road water control structure and at the northeast corner of Wonder Lake (three other Island Road piers and pier remain open); and Deer Park Meander Launch (Concordia Parish).
