Once again relying on the excellent performance and reliability of PROOF Research® guns, Hamilton and Murphy win another grueling long-range competition.
PROOF Research® Weapons Test Specialist Greg Hamilton and Sean Murphy of Nightforce Optics take home a first-place victory at the Coleman’s Creek Sniper Team Championship, held 9-11 December 2022 in Ellerbe, North Carolina.
Considered one of the toughest sniper team challenges, the six-stage competition tests a shooter’s abilities to engage targets from 10 yards to 1700 yards. Each team was to bring a sniper rifle, a carbine, and a pistol. At each stage, competitors read a summary and had one minute to ask questions before beginning the stage. The stages ranged from paper targets to “find, measure and attack” targets, to technical shooting problems that the competitors had to solve. While competitors focus on their marksmanship skills, problem solving and teamwork are critical aspects of this unique team sniper competition.
Hamilton used an Accuracy International 6.5 Creedmoor with the PROOF Research AI Pre-Fit stainless steel barrel, while Murphy used a 223 Wylde carbine with a PROOF Research AR 18” stainless steel barrel.
