Classic 1911 styling is evident throughout the Defender. Features like a slant-up beavertail grip safety, commander-style hammer, and familiar controls allow for a seamless transition from full-size pistols to the compact Defender series. Modern enhancements include a double recoil system that reduces recoil, a high-sweep grip safety, and a cut-out trigger guard for better control, all of which contribute to exceptional grip and rapid target acquisition.
The Defender includes features intended to improve concealability, function, and performance in a self-defense engagement. Its front night sight is combined with a blackened NOVAK rear sight for fast target acquisition in all light conditions. The barrel, just 3 inches long, shortens the overall length of the Defender. At the same time, an integrated carry bezel on the front of the slide also helps effortlessly slide the pistol into a holster.
The Defended SS model features a lightweight aluminum frame with a matte stainless steel finish, topped with a forged stainless steel slide. It’s a gun that looks as good as it conceals. Blued models use a deep blue metal finish. All models are fitted with specially designed G10 grips to prevent imprinting, a vital factor for deep concealment.
