APEX Ammunition on display at the Delta Waterfowl Duck Hunters Exhibition 2023

APEX Ammunition, maker of award-winning handload Tungsten Super Shot (TSS) shotshells, will be exhibiting at the Delta Waterfowl Duck Hunters Expo in Little Rock, Arkansas, July 28-30, 2023. Located in Booth #198 at the Little Rock Statehouse Convention Center, APEX will be showcasing its broad offering of waterfowl ammunition. The three-day show is open to the public and will feature the latest in duck hunting equipment, duck calling contests, decoy demonstrations and more.

“The Delta Waterfowl Duck Hunters Expo is an exceptional event, and our team looks forward to attending each year and spending time with as many other passionate waterfowl hunters as we are,” said Jason Lonsberry, President and CEO of APEX Ammunition. “Our company pioneered the commercial application of TSS with the goal of producing the best cartridges possible. This is why we hand-load every TSS shell we make because the precision required to achieve our superior pattern and performance cannot be achieved by mechanical loading. APEX TSS loads also have a higher payload per gauge, resulting in better pattern density. and higher lethality.

In addition to TSS, APEX also offers a TSS/S3 Mixture of steel and S3 Steel loads to meet an even wider range of hunter needs and prices. All APEX Waterfowl loads feature an advanced tungsten lug system to offer the tightest patterns and best barrel protection possible. Waterfowl offerings include:

waterfowl TSS

The APEX Waterfowl TSS Z Series is a devastatingly punchy (18.1g/cc) Tungsten Super Shot load that is meticulously hand-loaded for the ultimate in consistency and design. Available in 12 gauge, 20 gauge and 28 gauge loads.

TSS/S Waterfowl3 steel mix

These devastating “duplex” loads combine #9 or 7.5 Tungsten Super Shot with various shot sizes of APEX S3 galvanized steel shot.

APEX S3 The steel features perfectly uniform granules for optimal patterning in a steel charge, and when combined with ultra-high-density TSS, helps deliver a stronger payload and better terminal performance for reduced damage. Available in 12 gauge and 20 gauge.

APEX also offers the popular Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blend load of No. 8 TSS and No. 3 S3 12 gauge steel only.

waterfowl S3 Steel

APEX S Waterfowl3 The steel is zinc coated to improve performance in a load of steel. Normal steel shot has small voids and irregular surfaces due to the manufacturing process. APEX’s zinc coating fills these voids and imperfections creating consistently rounder granules. Zinc also acts as a lubricant, resulting in a more consistent pellet drop during loading and greatly reduces the chance of pellet “bridging” when one pellet jams with another. The reduced friction also allows for better movement of the pellets relative to each other in the firing process, resulting in fewer stray pellets known as flyaways. The same advanced tungsten stud system used on the TSS line is also used on the S3 shot cartridges and, when combined with APEX’s premium zinc plated steel, offers a superior pattern in a steel load. Available in 12 gauge and 20 gauge.

During the Duck Hunters Expo, APEX will have its Z-Series Waterfowl TSS Loads for sale in addition to the APEX Flight Bag. This handsome waxed canvas bag, buckled and heavy duty leather strap emblazoned with the APEX logo, holds five boxes of 25 S rounds.3 Steel waterfowl shells.
