Bowhunters Will Be Delighted With APEX’s New Single-Gauge Kingpin

Verdict Single Jaw BOA Release

When it comes to throwing, bowhunters and archers look for options, and true to form, APEX Gear has delivered once again. The index finger release crowd demands quality, functionality, durability, comfort, and consistency, and for 2023, APEX brings this crowd the Verdict Single Jaw BOA Release.

Many shooters favor the single jaw release due to its simplicity. Press the trigger, the upper jaw opens and the lower jaw, part of the release head, remains stationary. Many archers love the idea of fewer working parts, and the compact head design of the Verdict helps increase the ease of attachment of the D-loop, and the black polished head increases the longevity of the D-loop. The forward trigger position allows the shooter to access the trigger more easily, and when shooters can find the trigger quickly and feel comfortable with the trigger, they are less likely to panic. Sweetening the pot is the trigger mechanism without a sear, which promises simplicity and remarkable shot-to-shot consistency. Every shot is sharp and ultra clean.

Comfort is found in the padded wristband and the BOA adjustment system, without buckles or velcro, means a constant and effortless fit from the strap to the wrist. The Velcro is noisy and the holes in the leather buckles wear out over time making exact fluidity from the wrist to the strap impossible. With the BOA Fit System, the fit and feel around the wrist is precise every time, making it possible to repeat anchor point positions. The release head pivots out when not in use, keeping the head and pole out of the way when pushing through thick brush or walking to and from the base of the tree. Customization is enhanced by the adjustable head design, which can be lengthened or shortened along a threaded post to ensure maximum customization.

The Terminus Single Jaw BOA Release is available through shooting sports retailers.

and online at www.apex-gear.com.

Bucks County, Pennsylvania (January 2023) – Cold Case Initiative (CCI), a not-for-profit agency that helps agencies with funds to offset the cost of techniques used to solve cold cases, violent crimes, missing persons, and unidentified decedents, is pleased to partner with Innovative Forensic Investigations (IFI), a genetic research genealogy firm that provides services to government and law enforcement agencies across the country. IFI will provide CCI with access to its full suite of investigative genetic genealogy services. CCI will fund any legitimate investigative steps necessary in a cold case in addition to research genetic genealogy.

“I am extremely excited about this partnership because I know it will lead to violent crimes being resolved and the names of unidentified victims being restored,” said retired Pennsylvania State Trooper Cpl. Tom McAndrew, special advisor to the CCI non-profit board and director of law enforcement relations at IFI. He continued: “ICC was started by experienced detectives whose sole motivation was to help law enforcement agencies solve cold cases and fight for victims, which is the same like-minded mission as IFI. ICC and IFI recognize that law enforcement agencies have to do a lot every day, and this often allows little budget funding for cold cases. CCI hopes to help defray those costs and remove this hurdle. We are proud of this partnership and look forward to many great things to come.”

“At IFI, we believe in the power of collaboration while upholding the standards of our justice system and are excited to partner with these professionals whose mission aligns so well with what we do and what we believe in,” Jennifer Moore, CEO and founder of Innovative Forensics. Investigations, she commented. “CCI is doing such positive work and providing much-needed funding to deserving law enforcement agencies. We are pleased to partner with CCI and provide our investigative genetic genealogy services to help solve more cases and provide solutions for victims and their families.”

CCI’s vision is that cold cases and victims of violent crime, the unidentified deceased, and the families of these missing persons receive justice and have their stories told. As such, the nonprofit organization’s mission is to assist agencies across the United States by providing funds to offset the cost of investigative and scientific techniques used to solve cold cases of homicide and violent crime, identify criminal missing persons and return the names of the unidentified deceased. .

Funding that CCI provides to selected law enforcement agencies comes from the public through generous donations. Across the country, agencies are looking for new and innovative ways to advance their toughest cases, but limited funding prevents them from bringing their ideas to fruition. Contributions from the public provide much-needed funding to law enforcement agencies to ensure they have access to the most advanced tools and technology to advance their investigations. Donations can be made via PayPal, credit card, or Venmo.

ALPS OutdoorZ Introduces the DEADQUIET® Shield Binocular Harness

NEW HAVEN, Missouri – ALPS OutdoorZ, the leading manufacturer of extreme-duty hunting backpacks and outdoor gear, understands that many hunts have been thwarted by noisy fabrics. That’s why the company has introduced a new line of accessories designed to ensure maximum silence in the field while providing optimal protection from the elements, starting with that essential hunting accessory: the binocular harness.

The new DEADQUIET® Shield Bino Harness uses the proprietary DEADQUIET® fabric developed by ALPS OutdoorZ to create a bino-harness that not only protects expensive optics from weather and environmental hazards, but is also quiet in operation.

Layered DEADQUIET® fabric consists of a fleece exterior that effectively dampens sound from contact with hands, brush, and other clothing. The inner layer is a tough chamois that offers quiet binocular retrieval and replacement and features high wear resistance over years of heavy use. Built on a structured box design for added protection and support, the DEADQUIET® Shield Binocular Harness is adjustable for the perfect fit as clothing requirements change throughout the season. MOLLE webbing is integrated into both sides of the harness so left and right handed archers and gun hunters can conveniently position a rangefinder, callout or other accessories within easy reach without interference.
