Rogers, AR (January 27, 2023) – HatsanUSA® is proud to announce its largest airgun ever: the .62 caliber PileDriver. The PileDriver is designed exclusively for high powered hunting applications. Capable of producing over 700 ft-lbs. of kinetic energy in .62 caliber, it is also available in .45 and .50 caliber models. Although this rifle uses a 33-inch barrel, its bullpup design keeps the maximum length under 4 feet. The side lever cocking mechanism is easy to reach and operate.

A 480cc carbon fiber bottle fills to 4350 PSI and will provide up to 6 high powered shots in a single fill. A built-in pressure gauge helps monitor pressure in the cylinder, and a quick-fill spout allows for easy filling. The PileDriver’s unique, patented hammer design eliminates traditional steel coil springs in favor of a smoother, easier-to-cock gas piston mechanism. This top-loading single-shot rifle also features an extra-large loading port that accepts ammunition up to 34mm in length.

The rifle’s 14-inch-long scope rail is cut to accept 11mm picatinny and dovetail mounts, offering plenty of room for various optics. Three picatinny accessory rails are attached around the air bottle for further customization. The high-strength steel barrel is precision-rifled for long-range accuracy, and the absence of a shroud allows for sabot rounds, further expanding ammunition options. The fully adjustable 2-stage Quattro trigger is another customizable feature that the .62 caliber PileDriver offers. The receiver is anodized black and a manual safety is included.

The all-weather synthetic bullpup stock features an ergonomic pistol grip with textured grip surfaces for improved feel and control. The soft rubber recoil pad is both height and angle adjustable to ensure controlled recoil and a comfortable fit. An elevation-adjustable headrest ensures proper sight alignment with any optic.

TALLADEGA, Ala. – If you are a seasoned Sporting Clays or 3D Archery athlete, or have ever been interested in trying either discipline, get out your calendars! The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) recently announced a full list of ASA (Archers Association) and NSCA (National Sports Clay Association) events for 2023.

Talladega’s monthly 3D Archery Tournaments are open to the public, and both new and experienced are welcome to compete. Competitions are designed for archery enthusiasts who are hunters or just love to use a bow and arrow.

Tournaments follow official ASA rules and are shot against Delta McKenzie professional targets. Practice bags will also be available for sighting and warm up. The entrance fee is $7.50 for youth (ages 6-17) and $15 for adults (ages 18 and up).

Although the events are held over two days, individuals can choose one day to complete their 20 total score goals. ASA State points feed into the Alabama ASA State Shooter of the Year program.

Roadless areas in the Tongass National Forest provide irreplaceable habitat for large game and are home to valuable salmon fisheries.

WASHINGTON – The unique habitat for wildlife and field fish in America’s largest national forest, the Tongass in Alaska, will once again be conserved under a rule finalized today by the US Department of Agriculture.

This afternoon’s USDA announcement is the latest decision affecting the long-term management of the 9.3 million acres of roadless land in the Tongass. The USDA rule restores long-established protections for these areas, which contain habitat for coveted game species, including mountain goats, Sitka black-tailed deer, and grizzly and black bears, and span thousands of miles of land. salmon-rich waterways, legendary among anglers and central to the state’s commercial salmon industry.

Backcountry Hunters & Anglers has consistently expressed its support for responsible management of roadless areas within the Tongass, and the BHA today applauded the administration’s decision.

“Hunters, anglers, tribal nations, outdoor recreationists, business owners and members of the Alaskan community have collectively stepped up to support conservation of Tongass’s unique roadless areas,” said John Gale, BHA vice president of policy and government relations. “These public lands and waters comprise invaluable habitat for fish and wildlife and play an important role in the economies of communities throughout Southeast Alaska.

“Of the 1.6 million comments submitted by Alaskans and others during the original roadless rulemaking process, 95 percent supported strong protections for roadless areas,” Gale continued. “We thank the administration for taking steps to maintain the integrity of this precious rural landscape by ensuring the long-term conservation of roadless lands in the Tongass.”

The Roadless Areas Conservation Rule of 2001 guides the management of 58.5 million acres of national forests outside the country. However, in 2018, USDA formally undertook a rulemaking process to develop an Alaska-specific version of the national roadless rule following a request from the state of Alaska, which wanted to facilitate further development and industrial access to tractless lands. roads in the state. In 2020, the Forest Service repealed roadless protections for the Tongass entirely, opening the world’s largest intact temperate rainforest to damaging development.

The protections will keep virgin nature intact for 20 years

WASHINGTON, DC—Backcountry Hunters & Anglers commends the decision to promote long-term protections for the Rainy River watershed and the pristine waters of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, a jewel in the crown of public lands and waters in northeast Minnesota and America’s most visited wilderness. area.

A jointly secured administrative mineral extraction through the Bureau of Land Management and the US Forest Service would place a moratorium on mineral extraction in the region. In 2016, the Obama administration took steps to remove parts of the basin from new mineral development. In 2018, the Trump administration canceled the Forest Service’s recall request and associated environmental review after three public meetings had already been held, more than 90,000 public comments had been collected, and environmental analysis had been conducted.

Today’s decision is a major milestone following environmental analysis of border waters and the potential effects of copper and nickel mining in this pristine basin restarted by the Biden Administration in 2021. The administration’s withdrawal proposal would prohibit development of any mineral concessions on approximately 225,504 acres of Superior National Forest land within the Boundary Waters basin for up to 20 years.
