The organization’s adult mentors work to provide opportunities for children to learn about outdoor activities in a safe environment. These activities include fishing, camping, hiking, bird watching, archery, hunting, shooting sports, sailing, and more.

“Our agreement with OTF creates a fantastic opportunity for our volunteer adult mentors to help kids take what they’ve learned and apply it to active outdoor experiences,” said Pass It On President and CEO Mike Christensen. “With our organization working together, we will equip the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts to safely enjoy the full range of outdoor activities.”

Pass It On is an independent, nonprofit organization that began in 1999 as an effort by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks to bolster the ranks of hunters and fishermen in the state. It has grown beyond the Kansas borders to include activities in Alabama, Alaska, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Founded in 1981 in Dallas, the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public non-profit organization. For many schools, the grant money offsets the cost of the program, plus OTF offers matching funds for equipment as new schools join. The resulting classes can be taught as a physical education course, local elective, or with agricultural science and wildlife management.

There are more than 520,000 graduates of the program to date, and each OA student spends 180 hours learning outdoor education per year. The program has totaled 95 million outdoor education class hours to date.

TRCP Welcomes the Restoration and Habitat Focus in the Proposed BLM Rule

The group encourages public participation to ensure a successful outcome

(Washington DC)—Today, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Association responded to the Bureau of Land Management’s announcement of a proposed Landscape Health and Conservation Rule. The rule is intended to clarify and support the agency’s multiple-use and sustained yield authority provided through the federal Land Policy and Administration Act, with a focus on restoration, protection, and balanced development.

The TRCP supports the restoration and conservation of fish and wildlife habitat on BLM lands as part of the agency’s mission of multiple use and sustained yield, and we appreciate the opportunity to participate in this process.” said Joel Webster, vice president of western conservation for Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership. “Public lands and BLM habitat are under increased pressure from drought, severe wildfires, and invasive species, and the Landscape Health and Conservation Rule has the potential to enhance the BLM’s ability to address those challenges.” .

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres, primarily in the western United States, and the agency is tasked with balancing a multitude of uses, including conservation, recreation, and resource development. The proposed rule is open for a 75-day public comment period.

“We plan to roll up our sleeves to ensure that the BLM Landscape Health and Conservation Rule improves the management of our public lands to benefit athletes,” Webster continued. “TRCP encourages the BLM to engage with a variety of stakeholder groups when refining the rule to ensure it is workable, durable, and successfully implemented.”

Founded in 2002, the TRCP is the nation’s largest coalition of conservation organizations, uniting and amplifying the voices of athletes by convening hunting and fishing groups, conservation organizations, and outdoor businesses with a common purpose.

Bond Arms® brings a heavy hitter to market with the Cyclops .45-70

Bond Arms® is well known for producing some of the best quality derringers on the North American market. Their pistols not only come in a wide range of calibers, but also make a statement, and the craftsmanship of these derringers is second to none. Built tough, rugged and dependable, each of Bond Arms® offerings often exceeds consumer expectations.

And yet, Bond Arms® once again exceeds expectations. While derringers are often considered small rimfire calibers and expand into standard pistol calibers, including some magnum cartridges, they are not typically chambered in a traditional rifle caliber. That is, until now.

Announced at SHOT Show 2023, Bond Arms began production of a .45-70 derringer called the Cyclops. Weighing in at 28 oz, the Cyclops is built stronger and more durable than ever. This 4.25-inch barrel is installed in a single-action frame and is just the first release in a new series of large-bore derringers scheduled to be released in 50 AE, 454 casull, and 44 magnum.

This model varies from other Bond Arms pistol options. Unlike the traditional over/under staple, the Cyclops is single shot. The lack of a secondary chamber adds additional weight to the pistol and mitigates some recoil in a cartridge as large as the .45-70. It comes with a proprietary extended B6 resin grip. Changes have been made to the grip to make it more ergonomic and easier to shoot. These sights are not unlike most Bond Arms options and are attached to the frame and barrel.

The Cyclops has a fascinating overall weight of 6.75 inches and a strong 7-pound trigger pull. This gun is a TON of fun to shoot. So if someone wants to make a statement at the shooting range, the Cyclops is the perfect derringer!

Many of the Bond Arms® barrels can be changed to various frames. The Cyclops frame will not be compatible with the Hand Cannon, Stinger, or Stinger RS.

Cyclops .45-70 Features:

  • Handle material: B6 resin
  • Grip Size: Extended
  • Sights: Fixed
  • Ammo Capacity: 1
  • Action: Single Action
  • Trigger Guard: Yes

Cyclops .45-70 Specifications:

  • Caliber: .45-70 Government
  • Barrel Length: 4.25 in.
  • Length: 6.75 inches.
  • Weight: 28 ounces
  • Trigger Weight: 7 lbs.
  • MSRP: $699

BOND ARMS, INC. is located in Granbury, Texas, and manufactures the award-winning Bond Arms Derringer – the best in double barrel protection. Originally organized under the Texas Armory name, the company was incorporated as Bond Arms in 1995 with the idea that the Remington Model 95 over-under, single-action derringer could be converted from an Old West anachronism into a reliable modern pistol. The barrel and frame have been redesigned to safely fire modern calibers and the entire pistol is constructed entirely of stainless steel. This makes for a pistol that is strong and durable.

ADD SERIOUS PUNCH WITH PRO-TRACKER® ARCHERY BAGS BAD BOYS FOC

Pro-Tracker Archery makes it easy to increase your Arrow FOC for greater game impact

Pro-Tracker® Archery, the acclaimed manufacturer of archery equipment for hunting, invites you to check out Bad Boys, the innovative FOC sleeve that increases the inertia of your arrow at impact. There’s never been an easier way to make your arrow have more momentum, giving it an extra “hit” on impact with play.

“In bowhunting, besides accuracy, momentum is everything when it comes to making a clean and ethical kill shot,” said Gary Christensen, owner of Pro-Tracker Archery. “You need the broadhead to go where you need it to go, and you need it to carry enough velocity and inertia on impact to bring an animal down effectively. That’s what Bad Boy covers can do – give you that extra punch you need.”

Available for compound and crossbow hunters, Bad Boys sleeves come in various weights and colors. This allows you to find the right amount to get the accuracy and inertia you need for the distances you’re shooting at. FOC is not a new concept. Having a weighted arrow forward helps generate the most impact on the shot and helps achieve a clean and ethical kill shot. To use Bad Boys, simply slide it over the arrow shaft and secure with the broadhead or field point for practice. It’s designed to use your current zero from 20 to 30 yards, so you can add it as needed. Longer takes will only require minor adjustments.

Pro-Tracker Archery Bad Boys FOC Sleeves come in weights from 62 to 300 grains, as well as in variety packs so you can dial in what suits you best. There are multiple color options, as well as the standard black. These sleeves fit both standard and microbore shafts and include shrink head tubes to accommodate smaller shafts. You can change sleeves in the field without retuning, making it the easiest way to add momentum to your arrow. Sold by the pack of three. Step Up Your Turkey Hunting Game With Swagger QD

Whether you’re waiting for an extended period in a “hung” longbeard or making the last call to separate a tom from his hens, having consistent rest is a must. A proper bipod, such as the Swagger Bipods QD42, prevents the hunter from holding a heavy weapon, allows hands free use of a slate call, and is essential in a turkey hunter’s arsenal.

The Swagger Bipods QD System is a hybrid design, taking the Quick Adapt technology from Swagger’s original popular Hunter series and the Quick Detach design with the QD, creating the most versatile shooting system turkey hunters have ever experienced. By simply connecting the QD42s directly to a wide variety of shotguns, many turkey hunters now have the advantage of keeping their shotguns in the ready position for an extended period of time. Less movement in the ready position prevents the sharp eyes of the wild turkey from spotting the hunter as he attempts to hold the gun in an elevated position.

If you are a hunter who prefers to hunt blind or like to bring a child hunting, QDs may also be the answer. QD42s range from 14” to 42”, allowing all sizes of turkey hunters to have the advantage of a stable rest. For turkey hunting on the go or having to change position, the QD can be disengaged and reengaged with the push of a button. Weighing only 15 ounces makes it easy to move because there isn’t a significant amount of extra weight.

Every seasoned turkey hunter knows that a missing link can make or break a hunt. Since Swagger QD42 bipods provide turkey hunters with many advantages to outwit a mature spring eater, it’s no surprise that the QD42 has become one of the essential tools turkey hunters carry in their vests on every hunt. .
