Bear Forest Knives Introduces Lend Its Namesake To Its Newest Offering: The Bear

Bear Forest Knives lends its name to its newest offering to introduce: The Bear. Just don’t call him Junior. The strong sheath knife captures the spirit of the butcher knives carried by the ‘old’ mountain men.

Rustic in appearance, this medium-sized belt knife can be used as a hunting knife or for general/camping lumber. The Bear features a 4.5-inch 80CrV2 high carbon steel blade designed for toughness and ease of sharpening. The polished acid wash finish appears aged and will be enhanced as a natural patina forms.

The saber sharpening keeps the blade thin enough to excel in the cut, while the extra meat near the tenderloin makes the 0.125” (1/8”) thick blade tough and tough as a bear. There’s no need to be shy about bashing the bear through hardwood in the absence of an axe. The added 90 degree spine scrapes tinder and an iron bar with authority. And peel carrots and potatoes for a true country kitchen.

Comfort first. If you are concerned about knives with small handles, this is the one for YOU. A nearly 5-inch handle offers plenty of room for oversized, gloved hands. The oval cross section accommodates anyone concerned with hot spots from sharp angles and finger grooves. For a sure textured grip, wear The Bear proudly sporting black or green burlap micarta, or keep it natural with red oak flakes.

For a change of pace, Bear Forest Knives chose leather pants to complement The Bear’s essence. The illustrious brown leather sheath is manufactured by JRE Industries and includes a Dangler & Ferro Loop. Like The Bear, JRE Industries is made in the USA.
