The Nebraska Park and Game Commission will accept applications for a 2023 bighorn sheep lottery permit beginning April 17.
A $29 non-refundable application fee must accompany each application. Only Nebraska residents age 12 and older are eligible for the lottery. It is illegal to submit more than one application in a calendar year. Residents can receive only one lifetime permit. The permit is not transferable.
The application period begins at 1 pm Central Time on April 17 and ends on August 4. Applications will be received at the Game and Parks offices until 5 pm or, if applying at OutdoorNebraska.org, until 11:59 pm.
The permit will be drawn on August 31 and the successful applicant will be notified.
The 2023 bighorn sheep season is from November 28 to December 22.
