BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA — BOSS Shotshells announced it will provide a free case of its American-made “muzzleless” copper-plated bismuth shot shells to each school that participates in the Delta Waterfowl University Hunting Program. for a second season. The donation celebrates BOSS’s continued “Champion of Delta” corporate sponsorship.
“We are excited about the opportunity to help support these new hunters and work with Delta on these efforts,” said Zach Meyer of BOSS Shotshells. “Having these future wildlife leaders in the field really helps them better understand the passion and commitment of all hunters, and we hope they become hunters themselves.”
Delta UHP has grown to 72 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada for the 2022-2023 academic year and hunting season. The acclaimed holistic curriculum includes classroom work, state/provincial hunter safety training, a field day, a mentored duck or goose hunting day, instruction on how to prepare poultry for the kitchen, and a potluck meal. the birds that are hunted. Delta created UHP to address a lack of hunting familiarity among students seeking degrees and careers in wildlife management. It is estimated that up to 70 percent of them have no experience or family connection to hunting.
“The core of UHP’s mission is to bring these students on board as new and frequent waterfowl hunters,” said Delta HunterR3 Coordinator Jacob Bushaw, “but at the very least, they will have a positive and memorable experience, and we will send them in their future careers with a favorable impression of the hunt. Experiencing bird kills cleanly and quickly and easily getting them back is a big part of that. That is why it is so important to provide them with quality ammunition.”
BOSS Shotshells produces a full range of non-toxic cartridges for waterfowl hunters. The BOSS facility in Bridgman, Michigan manufactures shotgun ammunition for all popular hunting calibers and waterfowl situations.
“BOSS’s continued support as a Delta Champion brings undeniable value to the UHP program,” said Brad Heidel, senior director of marketing for Delta. “Your generous support plays a critical role in exposing the next generation of wildlife managers not only to hunting, but also to the positive impacts that hunter involvement has on conservation. We are delighted with their continued support of the program.”
