Engineers specifically designed the Shadow 2 race gun with an impressive list of improvements over its predecessors. CZ started with one goal: to create the perfect sport shooting pistol. They lengthened the slide, increasing the sight radius of the pistol and making it easier to land accurate hits. Adding an extended dust cover to its frame increased weight and shifted the balance slightly forward, damping recoil and reducing muzzle hop. Additionally, the slide tapers as it approaches the muzzle, cutting weight above the bore centerline, keeping the pistol flat as it rotates. The Shadow 2 uses the proven CZ 75 ergonomic grip angle shape that provides a natural aim while the aggressive texture secures the pistol in your hand.
In contrast, the Shadow 2 Orange sports bright orange grips, magazine cradles, and magazine release. CZ wanted to point out that this model was unique. The beauty of the Shadow 2 Orange is more than skin deep – the gun is also more accurate. CZ polished the barrel and fitted an externally installed removable bushing. The new set of bushings tightened the tolerances between the barrel and the slide, resulting in smaller groups on the paper.
Other precision improvements on the Orange come from manual slide adjustment at the factory. The slider rails start out oversized and slowly fit into the frame until it rotates as if it were sliding on glass. An improved trigger with a short reset comes standard on the Shadow 2 Orange. Less trigger pull shaves off precious milliseconds, meaning follow-up shots are quicker. The barrel and hammer are polished to help achieve a smoother shooting experience. It’s all about speed and Shadow 2 Orange delivers.
