CITY OF JEFFERSON, Missouri – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites the public to “go wild” for squirrel hunting season at its Squirrel Hunt for Beginners event on September 29 from 6-7 pm at the Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City. Participants will learn to identify common squirrels, squirrel habits and habitats, hunting rules and safety strategies, and hunting equipment and care.
Squirrel hunting season began May 28 and runs through February 15, 2023. Squirrel hunting is a great way to enjoy time in the woods, and you don’t need a lot of gear to hunt squirrels. Attend this event to increase your success in the field.
