SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has announced several late-summer hunting opportunities for August and September.
Is it so:
• squirrel season is open statewide from August 1, 2022 through February 15, 2023, but is closed November 18-20 and December 1-4 in counties open for gun deer hunting . The daily limit is five with a possession limit of 10.
• Season of mourning and white-winged dove is open statewide from September 1 to November 24 and from December 26, 2022 to January 9, 2023 statewide. The daily limit is 15 with a possession limit of 45.
• teal season is September 10-24 statewide in all zones. The daily limit is six with a possession limit of 18.
• Sora and Virginia railway season is from September 10 to November 18 statewide in all zones. The daily limit is 25 with a possession limit of 75.
• snipe season is from September 10 to December 25 statewide in all zones. The daily limit is eight with a possession limit of 15.
• Early season Canada goose season It is from September 1 to 15. For the north and central zones the daily limit is five with a possession limit of 15. For the south and south central zones the daily limit is two with a possession limit of six.
