Lexington, Kentucky: The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA), an independent medical group that focuses on evidence-based practices in the delivery of audio-vestibular care, sent a letter to Representative Jeff Duncan (R-SC-03) and Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID) supporting the deregulation of suppressors through the Hearing Protection Act. Their reason for being is simple: suppressors are a tool that can help prevent noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) and other hearing damage.
“As an independent medical group, the Academy of Audiology Doctors has absolutely no interest in suppressors outside of their positive impact on hearing conservation,” said Knox Williams, Executive Director of the American Association of Suppressors. “His passage of the Hearing Protection Act, which would give law-abiding citizens better access to suppressors, highlights the importance of these tools when it comes to firearms safety. We applaud the ADA for writing this letter and actively supporting hearing conservation.”
“ADA is committed to advancing public policy initiatives related to hearing loss prevention and early intervention. Therefore, ADA supports the Hearing
Protection Law”,

ABOUT THE AMERICAN SUPPRESSOR ASSOCIATION
The American Suppressor Association (ASA) is the unified voice of the suppressor community. We exist for one reason and one reason only: to fight for pro-repressive reform across the country.
The ability of the American Suppressor Association to fight for pro-suppressor reform is tied directly to our ability to raise funds. Since the ASA’s formation in 2011, we have helped 3 states legalize suppressor ownership, 19 states legalize suppressor hunting, and defeated attempts to ban suppressors in 2 states. This would not have happened without your support. Join us in the fight to help protect and expand your right to own and use suppressors by becoming an ASA Member at www.ASAMember.com.
