John Rigby & Co. Introduces New Limited Edition Swiss Rigby Rifle

London-based gunsmith John Rigby and Co. has collaborated with specialists from firearms importer Sell-In-Swiss to create an exceptional collection of limited-edition rifles that pays homage to Switzerland and the famed precision of the Swiss 7.5×55 caliber. . The series is limited to just 52 pieces in total, the idea being that two of these rifles will be created for each of the famous 26 cantons of Switzerland.

The design is derived from Rigby’s legendary Highland Stalker rifle, echoing its elegance and simplicity, but the aesthetics and features mark the Swiss Rigby Rifle as a truly unique firearm. As with all Rigby rifles, indicated by the “fit for purpose” mantra, the Swiss Rigby rifle embodies ruggedness, precision and functional reliability in a rifle any discerning hunter would be proud to carry.

The famous Swiss 7.5×55 caliber combined with an open sight and a rear diopter make this weapon shoot with extreme precision and can shoot from 300m without difficulty. 300 m is the standard length of a Swiss shooting range. Individual rifles in the series are numbered on the magazine floor, which also shows the caliber and the “Swiss Limited Edition” designation. This design will never be reissued and is not included in the Rigby catalog. You’re really limited to these 52 pieces, and there are already plenty of famous names from the hunting world lining up to take a closer look.

Each Swiss Rigby rifle will be delivered in a beautiful handcrafted gun case which not only keeps the rifle safe when stored but also looks great in any gun room. The interior and exterior design and the colors of the box have been meticulously chosen to ensure that the box is a totally new design, which marks the importance of this collection.

Since the company was founded in 1775, all firearms produced by John Rigby & Co. have been registered in Rigby’s famous directory. The famous London Best, the incredible big game calibers for which Rigby is known and loved throughout the world. Each gun represents hundreds, sometimes thousands, of hours of painstaking work by the talented gunsmiths and engravers in Rigby’s workshop. Rigby’s ledger is now a piece of history, and anyone lucky enough to be able to look through its pages will discover prestigious names like Jim Corbett, Winston Churchill, and various members of different royal families. The purchase of a Swiss Rigby rifle will grant 52 lucky people the privilege of seeing their name included in a piece of living history.

In addition to having their name handwritten in that famous ledger and owning a limited edition Rigby rifle, every Swiss Limited Edition owner will also become a member of an exclusive new club from the moment their rifle is ordered. The private Swiss Rigby Club is only for those 52 Swiss Rigby owners and will be a meeting point for people who are passionate about hunting, that famous Swiss caliber and Rigby as a brand. The club will be a forum for members to share where they have hunted with their rifle and where they plan to take it next, trading stories of cunning, daring and success! There will be sports challenges complete with congratulations and trophies for the winners, and even an exclusive collection of members’ clothing complete with the iconic Rigby ‘double-R’ branding.
