Columbia, MO– The public charity that helps fund thousands of youth shooting teams has recently raised over $275,000! On November 29, the MidwayUSA Foundation had an unprecedented Giving Tuesday by receiving the largest donation dollars for youth shooting sports since their Giving Tuesday campaigns began in 2017. Donors from across the country donated to shooting teams and organizations. youth shot to do this is possible. In just one day, the MidwayUSA Foundation raised $275,749.10, crushing their goal of $200,000!
MidwayUSA Foundation Executive Director G. Scott Reynolds spoke about how the Foundation’s donation and incentive dollars had an even more significant impact on youth shooting sports: “Thanks to Larry and Brenda Potterfield, we were able to add An additional $220,000 on Giving Tuesday. and incentive dollars, contributing a total of $495,749.10 to the youth shooting endowments here at the MidwayUSA Foundation. Increasing our endowments by nearly half a million dollars will put more dollars to work in our outdoor industry.” Nearly 300 youth shooting programs received a donation on Giving Tuesday.
Youth shooting teams that participated in the fundraising event also had the opportunity to win additional funds to increase their respective endowment. The teams that received the most donations on Giving Tuesday received prizes ranging from $5,000 to $1,000. In addition to the top teams, all other participating teams participated in a random draw, in which ten teams were drawn to receive $500 each. Donations made to youth shooting teams and organizations now and through the end of the year will also be matched. Every donation made to a MidwayUSA Foundation endowment is tax deductible. No fees are waived, and 100% of the donor’s donation directly benefits from that endowment. The Foundation does not keep anything for operations. Many shooting sports athletes also become future hunters and conservationists. Investing in youth shooting sports is an investment in the entire outdoor industry.
