That’s why the company, along with its represented brands, are enthusiastic supporters of Walk the Talk America and encourage all manufacturers and consumers in the firearms industry to support this important mental health education and outreach program.
Walk the Talk America (WTTA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a simple yet challenging mission: “Through formal education, outreach, and engagement with the mental health and firearms communities, Walk the Talk America aspires to reduce firearm suicides and other negative incidents associated with firearm possession.” .
MKS Supply and its associated brands are committed to the WTTA’s efforts to prevent gun suicide by:
- educate mental health professionals about United States firearms culture and beliefs, as well as provide an elementary understanding of the handling, operation, and storage of firearms through classroom instruction and live fire exercises
- de-stigmatize mental illness at the individual level through community-supported educational outreach to firearms, allowing people in critical need to feel comfortable seeking help from mental health professionals who better understand them
WTTA provides members of the firearms industry, from manufacturers to retailers, with introductory and point-of-sale materials that offer critical first-pass guidance and detection resources. WTTA is also offering a free downloadable slideshow to help firearms instructors talk about mental health awareness with their students and provide practical resources for those who need them.
MKS Supply is proud to be a corporate partner in support of WTTA’s public education and outreach efforts. All Hi-Point firearms, for example, are shipped with a WTTA information card and the company donates to support WTTA charity events.
