Mauser is pleased to announce outdoor life has named the Mauser M18 “Best Budget Hunting Rifle” of 2023. John Snow, outdoor life Shooting Editor combed through years of data compiled during its annual Best New Rifles of the Year tests and through its individual long gun reviews to choose the 11 most accurate long-range rifles it’s ever shot.
The precision figures in outdoor life The “Best Long Range Rifles of 2023” article was derived by taking the average of the top 10 groups of five shots that rifles delivered during evaluation. According to Snow, “This is a much stricter standard of accuracy than you will find anywhere else. Five-shot groups are not only more revealing than three-shot groups, but averaging over 10 groups raises the bar.”
This is what Snow had to say about the Mauser M18:
“The Mauser M18 earned our admiration and Great Buy award when it debuted in 2018. This three-lug bolt action based on a Remington 700 pattern receiver is a steal, especially in light of the excellent accuracy it demonstrated with the factory . ammo…Currently the best long-range deer rifle for the money.”
“We are honored to receive this recognition from Life in the open air,” said Jason Evans, CEO, Blaser Group. “The Mauser M18 was designed to deliver the benefits of German engineering and manufacturing: top-in-class reliability, durability, and accuracy. The immense popularity of the M18 is testament to the fact that we achieved these goals and have produced a hunting rifle that offers exceptional performance and value.”
The Mauser M18 bolt-action rifle is available in a Savanna Tan, US Marine Corps (USMC) Camo, and Fred Bear Old School Camo stock with grip inserts and a threaded barrel for adding a suppressor or muzzle brake.
