The Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) is seeking a new part-time Executive Director. Resumes will be accepted until the position is filled. The chief executive officer is responsible for the overall management of the organization and for leading and directing the implementation of the organization’s philosophy, mission, and strategic goals and objectives. POMA’s chief executive officer reports to the board of directors and will assist the board in fulfilling its role of governing the organization.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Management leadership:
- Board Administration and Support: Advise and inform the board on all facets of the operation, including, but not limited to, governance, accountability, and proper procedure leading up to a non-profit association; acts as liaison between board and staff
- Program and Service Delivery – Work with staff to deliver annual business programs to members, including but not limited to program, product and service marketing, promotion, delivery and quality, identify, evaluate and propose new courses of action to deliver value to the media and corporate membership.
- Annual Conference: Work directly with potential Annual Conference host locations to include RFP management and is responsible for ensuring event locations and hotel space meet POMA requirements. Hold regular meetings as needed with the Board Conference Committee, staff, and the local site (CVB, hotel, etc.) to ensure all conference tasks are executed. Assist members with questions, registration issues, hotel reservations, etc.
- The CEO is required to attend all face-to-face and online events hosted by POMA.
- Human Resource Management – Effectively manage the organization’s employees or contractors in accordance with authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Fundraising (specifically nonprofits): Oversee fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources (including non-fee income), establishing strategies for approaching funders, submitting proposals, and managing fundraising records and documentation.
- Member Recruitment and Retention: Work effectively to grow membership and retain members through positive communications and customer service. Oversee the duties of the Membership Committee as listed
- Actively engage and energize POMA volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partner organizations, and funders.
- Lead, train, develop, and retain high performers from the nonprofit organization; Ensure effective systems for tracking progress and regularly evaluate program components to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituencies.
- Financial, Tax, and Risk Management: Work with the accountant to reconcile the books and report finances to the board on a monthly basis. Work with the accountant to recommend the annual budget for board approval and prudently manage the organization’s resources within those budget guidelines in accordance with current laws and regulations and industry best practices.
- Public and Community Relations – Ensure that the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented to relevant stakeholders in a strong and positive image. Increase the visibility of the organization by developing and implementing a sustainable marketing campaign aimed at its various stakeholders and the public. Dig deeper and refine all aspects of communications, from web presence to external relations, to build a stronger brand.
Ratings:
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- 5+ years of management experience in 501(c)(6) non-profit membership organizations
- Knowledge of national and traditional outdoor media.
- Strong management and supervisory skills – ability to lead staff in achieving strategic objectives and managing a budget
- Proven ability to have developed and implemented strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
- Demonstrated excellence in fundraising development and implementation.
- Solid background in marketing, public relations and fundraising with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders

Salary/Benefits:
