Weighing just 3 pounds, the NovaSteel Buckler offers Level IIIA/VPAM-3 protection. Constructed from an advanced alloy, it features a strong, durable handle, a nylon carry strap, a Velcro patch for identification or light, and an optional lightweight LED guard light with strobe function. The NovaSteel Buckler Shield’s ambidextrous capability allows it to be easily switched hands in combat and can be used by both left and right handed users.
Although relatively small at 12.2 inches in diameter, the NovaSteel Buckler Shield is designed to stay clear of the body and as such can protect a significantly larger area than its size conveys. Held correctly, at arm’s length, it offers a much larger area of protection than most armor plates or vests and can protect typically unarmored areas such as the neck and face. Resting on the flat NovaSteel Buckler Shield shoulder, pistols are stabilized and the user’s most vulnerable parts are covered and protected.
