Ruby Belle (Miller) Ricks, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Eastgate Nursing and Rehabilitation in Washington, Indiana. She was born on July 4, 1930, in Quinlan, Woodward County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charlie Scott Miller and Clara Mae (Burkhart) Miller. She was the first in her family to graduate from high school in Mooreland, Oklahoma. Ruby married Charles O. Ricks in Mooreland on October 17, 1950. They lived in Missouri and had two daughters, Donna and Deborah. They moved to the family farm in 1955 south of Maysville, near Washington.
Ruby was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, fishing, squirrel and mushroom hunting. She looked forward to annual vacation trips to Oklahoma to visit her family. After the death of her husband Charles, she worked at Etiennes Farm Market. She was a member of the Maysville United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; husband; grandson John Kenworthy; and siblings Loren Miller, Delmar Miller, Maxine Dillinger, Bonnie Davidson, Verda Gantz, and Lois Roedell. Ruby is survived by her daughters, Donna Overton (Gary) of Washington, Indiana, and Deborah Kenworthy (John) of Ferdinand, Indiana. She also granddaughters Lisa Demontagnac (Howard) and Marsha Matteson (Brandon Smith) of Washington; and great-grandchildren Jacob Overton, Jordan and Chloe Demontagnac, and Coby Robinson.
Funeral services for Ruby will be held at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington on July 18, 2022, at 3 p.m., with Pastor Jason Johnston officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 pm until service time at 3 pm Burial will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Maysville United Methodist Church.
