Demi Lovato is showing off her whimsical California home!
“Skin of My Teeth” singer, 30, guest architectural compendium to his “psychedelic” residence in Studio City, where he worked on his eighth studio album, Holy Fvck.
While searching for a home during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lovato immediately fell in love with the modern farmhouse and partnered with Argyle Design founders Kat Bell and James Drew to conceptualize the perfect interior design.
The six-bedroom, seven-bathroom, 8,500-square-foot property reflects her values and personality in every space.
“For this house, I wanted each room to be very special and different from the next,” he says. AD on a video tour. Lovato also made it a priority to “highlight emerging artists from underrepresented communities” at all times.
Beginning with the “reception area,” Lovato’s maximalist vision is brought to life with the abstract black and white wallpaper and bright yellow sofa. Though she admits to spending little time in space, the singer admires her “wow factor” upon entering the house.
Showcasing her glamorous bedroom, Lovato says one of her favorite pieces is the neon yellow sign that reads, “You’re never fully dressed without a smile,” because it reminds her to always be positive. The rest of the room features a hot pink and dark green color palette, plus a salon-style shampoo bowl.
What she calls her “puppy area” is a separate little outdoor space for her dogs, Batman and Cinderella, for whom she provides a piece of artificial grass and props to play with.
The aubergine-colored main living room includes a number of unique details, from the bonsai tree coffee table to the zebra onyx crystal lamps. “There’s a leather pig here too, why not?” Lovato says in reference to the stuffed animal sitting next to his couch.
Connected to the living room is the contrasting kitchen, which showcases bright Gucci floral wallpaper and an iridescent chandelier. Lovato says the giant marble island is a “centerpiece” in the kitchen because of her love of hosting.
Deciding to skip the stairs, Lovato takes the futuristic elevator up to her “psychedelic” “mushroom room,” where she likes to hang out with her friends. The shimmering silver walls and interactive cloud lamp, which changes colors to the music, often help spark the star’s creativity.
The master bedroom reflects the singer’s spiritual side, with various crystals placed around the space. Due to his extensive wardrobe, Lovato had to convert one of his guest bedrooms into an additional colorful closet.
Moving to the backyard, Lovato’s eccentric style continues with her favorite part of the outdoor space: a miniature seating area for her resident chipmunks. It also has an in-ground trampoline, bar area, and pool.
Further back, in its outdoor space, is the studio of the singer’s home, which was originally a pool house. “My studio is a very sacred space for me,” says Lovato. AD. “I can be completely myself, be totally vulnerable and just write about how I feel.”
