Seminar Speakers Set for Wisconsin Open Season Athlete’s Expo Presented by Progressive & Can-Am

Leading industry experts, including renowned archery shooter Byron Ferguson and wild game chef de cuisine Jeremy Critchfield, will headline the seminar series at the Wisconsin Open Season Sportsman’s Expo Presented by Progressive Insurance® and Can-Am at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Wisconsin Dells, March 24-26. The seminar series will educate, inform and entertain outdoor enthusiasts.

Always a highlight for attendees of all ages, Ferguson will present his very popular Trick Shot Archery Show. The Alabama native has been known to shoot life-saving candy from his traditional bow and also shares several entertaining and often hilarious stories from hunting excursions over the years.

Critchfield will host a seminar entitled “The Delicious Dozen”. A chef by trade, she has combined a life outdoors and a 5-star culinary career to create the HuntChef line of seasonings. Critchfield will discuss the ins and outs of cooking and seasoning wild game.

Tom Mesnard has a unique approach to whitetail property management.
The Michigan native feels that habitat actually has very little to do with consistently taking mature bucks on hunting property, instead finding that there are several other very important aspects that play a key role in taking mature bucks. Mesnard has helped thousands of hunters in 27 states since 1984 with his TLM system.

Robie Pruitt, “The Clover King”, will host a seminar focusing on Food Plots That Produce Optimal Antler Growth in 7 Easy Steps. Pruitt has 28 years of experience planting Antler King food plots. The step by step process will demonstrate the correct way to obtain optimal growth from food plots.

Art Helin, who began hunting and trapping more than 40 years ago, will host the seminar titled “Trapping for Beginners: Success and Failure.” The Wisconsin native draws on his own experience, his successes and failures, and hundreds of days a year in the field hunting, trapping, guiding and scouting.

Dan Infalt of Hunting Beast Outdoors has been looking for big bucks on public property and under duress for 40 years and now he’s sharing the secrets of his success to help others. In the seminar, titled “Constantly Killing Large Males on Public Lands,” Infalt will discuss how to scout and hunt the largest available males on public lands and under pressure by showing real-life examples of males captured using these tactics.

Jeff Fredrick, former champion turkey caller, state and national for 22 years, has won the Wisconsin state title 12 times, will host the seminar, “Aggressive Calls for Better Turkey Hunting.” The Wisconsin native has been building his own calls since 1994. In this session, Fredrick will share his techniques for calling and landing big toms as well as provide information on proper handling that will produce better turkey hunts.

Working Class Bowhunter Podcast’s Clint Casper and host of CC Hunt Files will present a seminar covering the basics of successful deer and elk hunting in the Highcountry.

Wolfpack Adventures will be discussing Lake Michigan fishing during a couple of seminars on Saturday.

The Wisconsin Muzzleloader Association and the Wisconsin Hunters Education Association will host a muzzleloader safety course. The course is an important session for anyone planning to hunt with a muzzleloader. Proper safety and technique will be discussed and taught.
