Speer Ammunition was awarded a contract to provide service ammunition to the French police

Speer Ammunition was recently awarded the French Police 9mm Service Pistol Ammunition contract for Speer 124-grain Gold Dot. The service firearms contract will supply this agency for up to four years with an expected quantity of 20 million rounds.

“We are very pleased with the award of this prestigious contract,” said Speer President Jason Vanderbrink. “It validates the high level of trust international law enforcement agencies have in our extremely reliable and innovative products.”

The Gold Dot ammunition will be sent by the French National Police, the National Gendarmerie, the Customs Police and the Penitentiary Administration for a total of more than 250,000 people.

“The use of Gold Dot technology in this contract ammunition ensures the highest performance threshold and absolute confidence in performance,” said David Leis, vice president of Law Enforcement, Government and International Sales. “We are proud to produce ammunition that meets and exceeds the stringent requirements of our customers.”

Speer Gold Dot has set an industry benchmark for both self-defense and mandatory wear, earning the trust of consumers and law enforcement around the world. The bullet features a pressure-formed lead core that is bonded to an extremely uniform single-atom jacket while virtually eliminating separation on impact for more weight retention and consistent depths of penetration. The Gold Dot hollow point design expands consistently across a wide range of barriers. Reliable starting and cycling is achieved by sealed primers and nickel-plated brass.

Speer ammunition can be found at dealers across the country. For more information on all Speer products or to purchase online, visit www.speer.com
