Team Winchester tops NSCA national championship, powered by Winchester, and Kienbaum wins third title

Last week, the Winchester team showed why they are the most talented clay-sports competitors in the world. The Winchester stars were aiming for top honors at the Winchester-Powered National Sports Clays Association (NSCA) National Championship, season-ending grand event held in San Antonio, Texas. The event spans nine days and includes more than 2,300 sport shooters.

It’s safe to say that Team Winchester member Zach Kienbaum had a memorable week, first being inducted into the NSCA Hall of Fame and then finally claiming the rights as the 2022 NSCA National Champion. This was his third title. from Kienbaum, an honor he also won in 2018 and 2019.

Other members of Team Winchester put in strong performances, including NSCA Hall of Famer Anthony Matarese, who took third place in the main event, and Desirae “Desi” Edmunds, who took second place in the main event. of the Lady class. Joseph Fanizzi claimed the 2022 Junior Champion, and Connor Daniel won his class at the National Championship as the best Sub-Junior in the main event. Theo Ribbs shot lights throughout the event and was one of the top contenders, with Kayla Wilgus securing the Sub-Junior Lady runner-up.

Winchester Women’s Cup
The second year of the Winchester Ladies Cup is now also complete with winners determined for both the San Antonio event level and the all-year points race. The Winchester Ladies Cup is additional money that Winchester Ammunition has committed to help increase winning earnings within the Lady class and encourage greater participation from a broader group of female shooters. An additional $5,000 is split among the top three shooters with the highest cumulative scores in each of the eight NSCA Championship Tour events with an additional $10,000 in prize money awarded to the top three shooters with the highest cumulative scores throughout the season. This season alone, there were 27 different Winchester Ladies Cup payouts totaling $50,000.
