W. H. ‘Dub’ Womack – Daily Leader

Funeral for Mr. WH “Dub” Womack will be Wednesday, July 13 at 2 pm at Powell’s Grove United Pentecostal Church, with burial in the churchyard. Visitation is from 5 to 9 pm on Tuesday, July 12 at Powell’s Grove and will resume on Wednesday until service time.

Mr. Womack, 99, of Jayess, left this vale of tears and entered eternal life with the Lord Jesus Christ on July 8, 2022. Mr. Dub was born in Darbun, MS on August 4, 1922 , son of Elliot M. Womack and Annie. Syvilla Lambert Womack, and would have turned that century this year. He was an American patriot who served his country in the United States Army during the World War II era. He was retired from the Railroad and a member of the Powell’s Grove United Pentecostal Church. Mr. Dub enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially rabbits and squirrels. He loved his family and was a fine example of faith and integrity for all of them. His greatest love was the Lord Jesus and his church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Alexander Womack; her parents; brothers Willie B. Womack, Ernest Womack, Henry S. Womack, and Johnny Womack; sisters, Emma Barnett, Mary Wallace, Mattie Lee Boyd and Sallie Wallace.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Joyce A. Womack Rutland and her husband, M. Jerry Rutland of Jayess; two grandchildren, Elliot Rutland and wife, Jocelyn and Allen Rutland; and four great-grandchildren, Caroline and Clair Rutland and Addison and Avery Rutland. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.
