To the editor:<\/p>\n

I grew up surrounded by firearms. I have fond memories of pheasant and squirrel hunting with my grandfather and clay pigeon shooting with my father.<\/p>\n

I believe that weapons should be in the hands of normal, everyday, responsible and hard-working people.<\/p>\n

I also strongly believe that if you ever beat your spouse, are mentally ill, have a history of violence, or can’t get some of your family or neighbors together to ensure your sanity, then you should be permanently disarmed.<\/p>\n

Time and time again we have seen people shooting up churches, schools and parades with weapons that should have been taken from them.<\/p>\n

If you are a responsible gun owner who respects firearms and, more importantly, respects other people’s right to life, I want you to keep your gun.<\/p>\n
