  • The Colombian ground squirrel is an attractive animal full of entertaining antics. Their standard greeting involves touching their noses and mouths for about 1-5 seconds. This family was seen near Hauser. They can be found in central Idaho and western parts of Montana, along with northern and eastern reaches of Washington to the Canadian Rockies.

  • These 4 deer were cooling off in the water at the Marshall Wetlands the second week of July. I guess they wanted their day at the beach.

  • Fledgling robin that left its nest this morning along with two of its siblings.

  • This morning all 3 robin chicks successfully fled their nest. I was able to photograph 2 of them just before and after taking the plunge. The first one was already out before I knew it, as he was working in my garden when this happened.

  • A new resident of the Turnbull Fed Game Refuge. A young coyote hunting chipmunks. He was very busy, but he took the time to look up and investigate a very long telephoto lens. Taken very early on 07-04-22. Canon camera with 600mm lens.
