Columbia, MO – The MidwayUSA Foundation is now accepting grant applications for endowment holders who wish to apply for training of trainers or rank development grant funds. Both programs help the public charity continue its mission of providing sustainable funding for youth shooting teams and organizations across the United States. Qualified coaches are an integral piece to the expansion of youth shooting sports and so is a place to shoot.
Executive Director G. Scott Reynolds spoke about the importance of these grants. “We recognize that teams face other challenges, beyond lack of funds, that may prevent them from practicing and competing. Each of these programs is designed to meet the specific needs of our youth shooting programs.”
The MidwayUSA Foundation Coaches Training Scholarship cycle opened on February 1st and will run through March 1st with the scholarships being awarded in May. Funds can be used to provide trainers with basic or advanced level certifications, including skills training, clinics, train-the-trainer or other training for trainers. Teams or individuals interested in our Coach Training Grant Program should contact their state organization, as only state agency grant holders are eligible to apply.
Range Development Grants are available to allow existing shooting ranges to make improvements or expansions to allow for more youth-oriented shooting activities. This grant cycle runs from February 1 to April 1 and cash grants will be awarded in June. Requested facilities must be a range used by a MidwayUSA Foundation endowment holder. Equipment and agency endowment holders are encouraged to work with their respective shooting ranges to identify needs and complete grant application requirements. Both are competitive grant programs and applicants must apply through the MidwayUSA Foundation online application process. Additional requirements can be found on the MidwayUSA Foundation website.
