The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is pleased to announce the hiring of Jonathan Leach as the new director of development for the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). John has a long history with SSSF, first starting out as an athlete in our Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and then shooting pistol when he started the Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) in 2012. John was an accomplished clay shooter, Trap shooting, Sporting Clays and his favorite Skeet in SCTP all the way to High School shooting his Browning Citori. John was a member of an SPP National Championship Centerfire pistol shooting team with Ozaukee Scholastic Shooting Sports in Wisconsin, using his GLOCK 34. John gave back to the program and trained with his high school team while shooting with them in college. John later had the opportunity to be hired by Concordia University of Wisconsin (CUW) to start and coach their SCTP and SASP teams. John coached the CUW team to two SASP Rifle National Championships.
John stated, “I am excited to start my new role and help pass on and instill the values that I was taught as an athlete in both SSSF programs. I received a lot from my involvement in shooting sports and I am happy to have the opportunity to give back.” “We are happy to see another one of our former athletes join our staff. Many who work for and on behalf of SSSF saw John grow in our programs. With his experience with our programs, we hope he will thrive in his role at SASP.” Said Ed Fitzgerald Chairman of the SSSF Board. Fitzgerald further stated, “As a youth development program, it is our collective vision to one day see our entire board consist of successful alumni of our programs.”
