Last week, the Winchester team showed why they are the most talented clay-sports competitors in the world. The Winchester stars were aiming for top honors at the Winchester-Powered National Sports Clays Association (NSCA) National Championship, season-ending grand event held in San Antonio, Texas. The event spans nine days and includes more than 2,300 sport shooters.

It’s safe to say that Team Winchester member Zach Kienbaum had a memorable week, first being inducted into the NSCA Hall of Fame and then finally claiming the rights as the 2022 NSCA National Champion. This was his third title. from Kienbaum, an honor he also won in 2018 and 2019.
Other members of Team Winchester put in strong performances, including NSCA Hall of Famer Anthony Matarese, who took third place in the main event, and Desirae “Desi” Edmunds, who took second place in the main event. of the Lady class. The 121st Annual Kansas Governor’s Ringneck Classic will take place November 18-20 in Colby, Kansas. It will welcome 80 hunters from 15 states to a three-day weekend filled with pheasant hunting opportunities in the fields around Colby. Guests will also enjoy banquets, auctions and special events. The Ringneck Classic aims to raise awareness and funds for wildlife habitat and conservation in Kansas.
This year’s theme, “Celebrating Northwest Kansas Game and Wildlife,” is designed to recognize the impact of the Classic and the funds raised to support habit conservation. The City Limits Convention Center in Colby will host the evening banquets. At least 40 volunteer handlers and dog handlers will be on hand to ensure guests enjoy the spacious nine-county courses in western Kansas.
Ed Arnett, CEO of The Wildlife Society, will be among the Governor’s guest hunters and will deliver the keynote address at the banquet on Saturday night. Howard Vincent, outgoing president and CEO of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, and Amy Ray, president and CEO of Sisterhood of the Outdoors, will also join in the search for the iconic crew-necked pheasant.
The Classic will also host its third annual “Chix in the Sticks” happy hour on Friday, November 18 from 4-5:30 pm at City Limits Bar & Grill. The free event is open to all ladies. It will feature raffles, games and influential speakers in the world of women and hunting.

San Antonio, Texas – The Honorable American Veterans Afield (HAVA) is pleased to announce another successful and rewarding National Family Day, to be held at the San Antonio Police Training Academy. the 13the The annual event featured 110 participants who enjoyed a day at the range with firearms from major manufacturers, cowboy shooting, archery and ax throwing. Attendees enjoyed live entertainment, food, and prizes, including stuffed backpacks (for everyone), numerous weapons, optics, and other high-end raffle items. These distinguished disabled veterans also enjoyed a shooting demonstration by Lena Miculek (8-time world champion in 5 shooting disciplines) and heard from Jack Wilson (known for his heroic actions during a 2019 Texas church shooting).
This unique event is an effort by the outdoor industry to support veterans and their families for their sacrifice. HAVA’s National Family Day provides a welcoming environment for all participants, including children, who have fun with bouncy houses, games and multiple activities, including toy raffles. All the children go home with a gift. HAVA offers toddler care so participants and their spouses can enjoy the event.
One of the veteran attendees said, “I suffer from severe PTSD and can’t drive a car, so I had to bike to the event. When I checked in I was depressed, anxious and unhappy. Attending the HAVA event was better therapy for me than anything I’ve ever tried.
