Dania Vizzi claims silver, builds momentum toward 2024 Olympics

Winchester team member and international skeet shooter Dania Vizzi took silver at the recent 2023 US Shooting National Championships in the women’s skeet event. This event served as the first part of a pair of Olympic trials to determine who will represent Team USA at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Vizzi was consistent throughout the match in claiming the silver medal, an important step towards a hopeful Olympic Team bid. Through the middle of the match, Vizzi fired four perfect rounds in a row, an impressive feat in International Skeet, where targets fly significantly faster than American game. Vizzi completed the weekend with a 148/150 for a total score of 242/250, tying his teammate Austen Smith, who clinched victory during a tiebreaker to conclude the event.

“Dania Vizzi is an extreme competitor in the International Skeet game and is clearly shooting at a high level,” said Jason Gilbertson, Winchester’s director of marketing. “We congratulate her on her great performance at the 2023 National Championships and we look forward to seeing her compete around the world this year.”

Dania Vizzi has been a long-time member of Team Winchester in international skeet competitions around the world and plays an important role as an ambassador for shooting sports. Vizzi’s ammunition of choice is a unique Winchester AA® load designed specifically to comply with ISSF (International Shooting Sports Federation) rules. The 9-shot 24-gram payload travels at 1,325 feet per second and carries the toughest shot built to crush the toughest targets.

About caring for gun owners

Gun owners care. You worry about safety. You care about preventing unauthorized access to firearms. You care about improving your community, helping those in need, and conserving wildlife and wild places for generations to come. It’s time for gun owners to tell their stories and show how they’re making a difference. NSSF®, the trade association for the firearms industry, has established the Gun Owners Care campaign to unite gun owners and the firearms industry in this common cause.
