electronic arts has partnered with a Japanese publisher Cow-Tecmo to launch a unique hunting game under the EA Originals banner of exclusive and original titles that explore unconventional game types and playstyles. In wild heartsKoei-Tecmo in-house developer omega force is using its experience developing games set during feudal Japan to develop a game where hunting mechanics and strategy take center stage, rather than the usual hack-n-slash action. WILD HEARTS takes place in Azuma, a fantasy landscape inspired by feudal Japan, which is now overrun by the once-peaceful Kemono, altering its surroundings at the cost of the lives of its citizens. Kemono range from plant-infused squirrels to the massive Kingtusk boar. After a terrible fight with the winter wolf Deathstalker, players become bearers of life-sustaining technology and are forced to restore balance to the entire region.
The game will feature cooperative and cross-platform cross-play when it launches on February 17, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Origin, Steam, and the Epic Game Store. The trailer for the game will be released next week, on October 5.
