Huk’s inclement weather gear works to combat humidity on three levels to make these WATERPROOF-BREATHABLE. First, the outer layer has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish applied to repel water and prevent moisture from penetrating the garment. The second layer is a waterproof/breathable membrane that creates an additional barrier against exterior moisture but is porous enough to allow interior moisture to escape through the material. Finally, the third inner layer is a lining that wicks moisture back to the membrane, where it is transported out of the body.
A wet body cools much faster than a dry one, so staying dry is essential to staying warm in cold water.
