Hunters can hunt hunger during the holidays

Hunters across the United States can help feed the needy in their communities by donating nutritious meat from harvested game to charitable organizations and ministries.

Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry, the national venison donation ministry, today announced the launch of a new hunt hunger Campaign. hunt hunger is a national campaign that encourages hunters across the United States to help feed the hungry by donating their legally caught game, such as deer and elk, to local hunger relief ministries and charities. The campaign will help individuals and families this holiday season and beyond as the costs of necessities like food and fuel have risen.

Participating local butcher shops have agreed to receive and process the nutritious meat donations at a discounted price for Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry and other similar organizations located in 37 states. These organizations raise money to pay processing bills. The meat is then distributed free of charge to community food banks, soup kitchens, and other hunger relief programs to help feed those in need.

Over the past 25 years, Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry has facilitated the donation, processing and distribution of meat for 23 million servings of food to hungry individuals, children and families across the country. During that same time, hunters from hungry organizations across the United States have collectively provided 10 times that amount or more – meat for hundreds of millions of meals!

“Throughout history, hunters have provided food for their families and communities, and their generosity is still needed and appreciated today,” said Josh Wilson, CEO of Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry. “And in the Bible we see over and over again that God has great compassion for the poor and the needy. We are grateful for this opportunity He has provided to help hunters bless their hungry neighbors.”

Other hunting and outdoor related organizations and businesses are invited to join in support of the hunt hunger Campaign.

As many people prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and other winter holidays with family gatherings and hot meals, it’s important to remember the less fortunate among us. the hunt hunger The campaign aims to help by mobilizing hunter participation and public support for the various organizations like Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry that enable hunters to provide meat to their neighbors in need.

Farmers and hunters feeding the hungry – People across the United States struggling with food insecurity are often desperate for meat and protein. Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides nutritious meat to food banks, food pantries and food ministries that help those in need by paying participating local butcher shops to process deer and cattle that are donated by farmers and hunters. The ministry has donated, processed and distributed meat for 23 million meals since it began in 1997. New supporters and volunteers are welcome to join the cause.
