SITKA, the leading pioneer in performance hunting apparel and specialty gear, today introduced its most advanced line of insulation pieces to date with the new Ambient Collection.
Designed by SITKA’s product experts using best-in-class technologies and decades of experience in outdoor environments around the world, the Ambient Collection is designed to adapt to changing weather conditions as well as activity levels. This means that when users are stationary and temperatures are low, the pieces insulate to provide warmth. When users are active or temperatures rise, the pieces breathe well to expel heat.
“These active insulation products adapt to changing conditions, allowing for more efficient layering,” said John Barlow, SITKA Big Game Product Manager. “The Ambient Collection transitions seamlessly from outerwear when active to midlayer as activity slows and temperatures drop.”
The collection includes a men’s Ambient jacket ($299), a women’s Ambient jacket ($299), and a men’s Ambient hoodie ($279). Each item is made with post-consumer recycled PrimaLoft® Evolve insulation, 20-denier nylon ripstop fabric for durability, a DWR finish for enhanced weather protection, and mechanical stretch for comfort and a full range of motion.
PrimaLoft® Evolve insulation mimics the properties found in animal skin with fibers of varying lengths and deniers to create natural ebbs and flows in the material. This produces highly open structures that maximize airflow when in motion and trapped air when at rest, for optimal thermal performance with little bulk. Additionally, SITKA strategically designed the pieces without a traditional lining, making the garments two-layer rather than the commonly used three-layer construction. This unique design creates a more efficient transfer of heat and
humidity.
“This collection enhances the performance of any Sitka clothing system and provides unmatched versatility during active activities in cool and cold weather,” added Barlow. “Whether chasing bugles on a crisp morning, backpacking above the tree line, or heading back to camp in the frigid darkness, the Ambient Collection is your adaptive insulation solution.”
SITKA Gear’s new Ambient Collection was designed to be durable, packable, and above all, adaptable to changing weather conditions and activity levels. Each piece in the collection uses low-bulk PrimaLoft Evolve insulation to provide plenty of warmth when you’re still and breathable performance and moisture management when you’re on the move. Additionally, SITKA strategically designed the pieces without a traditional lining, making the garments two-layer rather than the commonly used three-layer construction. This unique design creates more efficient heat and moisture transfer without sacrificing warmth.
Ideal under a shell during cold weather, alone during balmy temperatures, or thrown in a pack to ward off abrupt weather changes, SITKA’s Ambient Collection offers versatile, high-performance mid-layer insulation pieces for men and women.
