Smallbore, Air Matches Return to CMP’s Camp Perry Open 2023

CAMP PERRY, Ohio – The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP)’s annual Camp Perry Open will resume May 19-22, set to offer a full schedule of airgun opportunities as well as a corresponding small-bore rifle match. , all at Camp Perry. National Guard Training Center in Ohio. Registration is open and capacity is limited, so register early for this fun and challenging event!

Such competitions offered at the 2023 Camp Perry Open include a youth 3×20 air rifle bout and adult and youth 60-shot air rifle and air pistol competitions, with adaptive athletes also welcome and encouraged to attend. In addition, a free air gun clinic will provide an educational opportunity for participants. All airgun events will take place within the indoor airgun range of the CMP Gary Anderson Center of Competence.

The Camp Perry Open includes air rifle and air pistol events within the electronic air range of the CMP.

Outside, a 3×20 small-caliber rifle competition will take place at Camp Perry’s Petrarca Shooting Range, conveniently located next to the airgun facility. The match will be shot at KTS electronic targets at 50 meters.

Along with the air pistol events, the Camp Perry Open also features a small-bore rifle competition.

Adding even more excitement to the Camp Perry Open will be the event’s celebrated Super Final, complete with costumes, music and other eye-catching effects that add fun to the match. During the Super Final, the top 38 competitors from each day’s air rifle and air pistol qualification round gather on the firing line to compete in an intense elimination event. The competition continues until there is only one athlete left standing in each discipline.
