Grab a bite at day five of Magic: The Gathering’s Unfinity previews.
The weekend is always the quiet time for the preliminary seasons of Magic: The Gathering, and Unfinity is no exception. Gone are the exciting days of revealing 20+ cards to pore over, today we’re down to just eight. However, that doesn’t mean those eight are bad; in fact, there is some really interesting stuff going on here.
In day five of Unfinity previews, we’ve got a Squirrel token generator for Eternal decks, the ability to still trigger abilities, and even a card that gets better the more you’re willing to eat. Here’s everything revealed in day five of the Unfinity spoilers.
Eternal Cards
Us'[ve only got three Eternal-legal cards today, and none of them are going to be breaking any formats. Squirrel Squatters pumping out Squirrel tokens each turn you roll for an Attraction is great, allowing you to make potentially up to ten tokens every turn. There’s also Lineprancers, which gives you two tickets for just two mana and then can be used as way to force your opponent’s creatures into dying in combat.
Dee Kay, Finder of the Lost is going to be a great commander for any deck that wants to roll lots of six-sided dice, which, while limited thanks to black-border Magic only rarely caring about d6s, is bound to become more popular thanks to all the support Unfinity gives the archetype.

Acorn Cards
For today’s Acorn cards, we have the following two members of Myra’s Marvels, with Myra Wonders Fluros being a powerful artifact commander who wants you to play a lot of spells with the same mana value. There’s also Myra’s Wonderland Nocturnewhich allows you to turn almost any keyword into a viable theme for a deck, as long as it is longer than five letters.
cake eating contest it’s absolutely wild, requiring you to either sacrifice food tokens (something this set doesn’t produce in large numbers so far) or eat a mouthful of real food. Getting people to eat on the table at local game stores is dangerous, but there’s nothing in the rules about chewing gum while playing to meet the requirement.
Finally, easy trigger is another Acorn card that feels more like a test for things to come. At the moment, the rules really only allow copying a triggered ability for you, whereas this just takes it away from your opponent and gives it to you. It wouldn’t be surprising to see this type of spell being able to make the jump to the black border in some form later on.
