Trinity Oak’s Thumbtack Ranch, the nation’s first Purple Heart Ranch, located in Batesville, Texas, will play host to the much-anticipated sixth annual fall pigeon release. This year’s fundraising festivities will take place on Saturday, October 15. You won’t want to miss this exciting fundraiser filled with competition and fellowship for individuals and friends.
The event kicks off on Saturday morning at 8:30 am at the beautiful Thumbtack Ranch. Filming begins at 9 a.m. with practice birds, followed by lunch at 11 a.m., and the 15-bird race will begin at noon. The donation for each person is $775 and non-shooting guests are $75 to attend. In addition to filming, Saturday’s festivities will include food, an open bar, individual prizes, a silent auction, raffles and games. Enchanting driving tours of the 2,000-acre sportsman’s paradise of Thumbtack Ranch will also be a highlight of the day.
All participants must bring their own side-by-side or over-the-top shotgun (no autoloaders or pumps), cartridges, eye protection, and hearing protection. Maximum shell size is 12 gauge, 2 3/4″, #7.5 shot, 1 1/4 oz. loads
