The cheapest family day out this week is the Amarillo Zoo

Wednesday July 20th is probably the cheapest family day out in Amarillo this week. The Amarillo Zoo is offering half-price admissions to celebrate National Zookeeper Week.

How to Get the Half Price Deal at the Amarillo Zoo

It’s pretty simple. Dress up as a zookeeper or your favorite animal and get in for half the price. In a press release earlier today, the City of Amarillo broke down what the cost will be after the discount.

Get ready.

For an adult ticket, it costs $2.25. For children ages 3-12, it costs $1.25. Seniors enter for $1.75 (62+).

I think it goes without saying that this is probably the cheapest family day out you’ll find this week.

What is National Zookeeper Week?

It’s exactly what it sounds like. It is a week set aside to honor those people who do their job to care for the animals at the zoo.

I can’t imagine being a zoo staffer is an easy occupation. I have quite a bit of difficulty with my two dogs and my cat.

To celebrate the week, everyone gets July 20 at half price.

Gather your outfit and head to the zoo

The zoo opens at 9:30 am and closes at 5 pm With the weather lately, I recommend going as early as possible.

Throw on some leftover Halloween cat ears or a pair of khaki shorts and head to the zoo.
